Our hearts are heavy in the wake of the terrible flooding in Texas, specifically the tragic loss of life and the devastation at Camp Mystic and other nearby camps. We continue to pray for healing and peace for everyone affected, knowing our God hears our prayers and is close to the brokenhearted.

In light of this heartbreaking news, we want to reassure our Hume community that the safety of every camper in our care is our highest priority. We maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for many natural disaster scenarios, such as wildfires, earthquakes, floods, and other severe weather. Our staff are regularly and thoroughly trained to follow these well-established protocols to ensure a calm, organized, and efficient response in any situation. We also remain in close coordination with local emergency services and have designated safe areas, evacuation routes, and communication systems to keep parents informed. Before your camper steps foot on our property, we’ve met with your sending church or organization to review additional protocols and procedures. You can feel confident that your camper is in capable, prepared hands.
