Sunday-Thursday Nights
7:00—8:30 PM

Join us, summer Sunday through Thursday nights as a weekly guest speaker shares compelling biblical teaching seasoned with unique life experiences and personal stories. These free, informal evening sessions are held in the historic Memorial Chapel. Childcare and kids programs are available for a small fee.

Day Camp and affordable Huckleberry Child Care allow you to set your own agenda or pick and choose from our scheduled summer activities.

Summer Seasonal Lodging

Summer lodging for the teaching series will open up on February 28th at 10am. Please call Registration to book a room!

We do not offer lodging open to the public; however, if you are at Hume attending our free Teaching Series, we do offer the following Summer Lodging:

Up to 4 guests allowed

Private cabins may be available for rent from cabin owners.

Some older mapping services will suggest you take the 245. It is a curvy, winding road that will take you at least an additional hour. DO NOT take 245!

There is a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of the first night’s stay due upon making a reservation. The deposit will be forfeited if a reservation is canceled.

We do not offer free guest WiFi at this point in time. We do offer Internet for a fee; however, the speeds here are not fast. Purchase at your own risk.

Lodge rentals during Labor Day weekend may not include additional amenities such as the mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, or phone.

At this time, we do not have an electric charging station at Hume or outlets available for charging vehicles. We encourage you to fully charge your electric vehicle before heading up the mountain.

Dr. Sean McDowell

Speaker

Dr. Sean McDowell is a gifted communicator with a passion for equipping people, to make the case for the Christian faith. He is an Assistant Professor at Biola University. Sean is the author, co-author, or editor of over seventeen books and is listed among the top 100 apologists. He graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary with a double Master’s degree in Theology and Philosophy and earned a Ph.D. in Apologetics and Worldview Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jerry Root

Speaker

Dr. Jerry Root is professor emeritus at Wheaton College, as well as a visiting professor at Biola University, Talbot Graduate School of Theology, and Moody Bible Institute teaching C. S. Lewis courses at all three schools. For over forty-one years, Dr. Root has lectured on C.S. Lewis topics at 78 universities in 18 countries. He is the author of numerous C.S. Lewis focused books, articles and publications. He is married to Claudia Root and together they have four married children and 15 grandchildren.

Brian Holland

Speaker

Brian is a disciple of Jesus first who has, by the grace of God, been in some type of pastoral role for 30 years in Southern California. He is currently the Lead Pastor for Ignite City Church. He has a strong desire to see people come to know and follow Jesus passionately and to live in true biblical community. He gets to be married to his best friend, Kelley, and has two amazing sons, Tyler and Dylan. Brian’s purpose in ministry is to help make disciples of Jesus who make disciple-makers.

Dr. John Boal

Dr. John Boal is the Executive Director of Hume Christian Camps. John graduated from Grace College, where he met his wife Lyn. John received his Master of Divinity from The Masters Seminary & his doctorate from Robert Morris University. He worked in the Development world for over 20 years. Before being Exec. Director for Hume, he served as their Chief Development Officer for 5 years. John & Lyn have 3 children: Hannah, Jesse, & daughter-in-law Vanessa along with their first grandchild Eliana.

Dr. Erik Thoennes

Speaker

Erik Thoennes is a Professor of Theology at Biola University and a pastor at Grace EVFree, La Mirada. He was voted Professor of the Year twice and was awarded the Faculty Excellence Award by his colleagues at Biola University. He is the author of “Life’s Biggest Questions: What the Bible Says About the Things that Matter Most,” and “Biblical and Theological Studies: A Student’s Guide,” Erik and his wife Donna have four children and love the people and ministry of Hume Lake!

Jake Ellis

Speaker

Jake Ellis is a teaching pastor from the central coast of California. He is passionate about equipping people in all stages of faith to become more like Jesus. As a worship leader for over a decade, he believes that all good preaching must ultimately lead to worship, and he longs to teach God’s Word in a way that moves people toward greater devotion. Jake and his wife, Nikki, have two daughters whom he adores and one goldendoodle that he feels neutral about.

Ed Uszynski

Speaker

Ed is a Content Developer and Oneness Consultant for both Family Life and Athletes in Action, the marriage and sport ministries of Cru. He served many years as a teaching elder at their home church and frequently speaks to college students, men’s groups, and churches around the country. His writing includes contributions to DesiringGod and other online publications, besides a chapter in the four-volume, C.S. Lewis: Life, Works, and Legacy. He has an M.Div. and Ph.D. in American Culture Studies.
