Theme Verse

Psalm 51:10

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Spiritual Direction

This summer, we will look at the Psalms of David to discover an honest and real representation of the life of the believer. Through David, we see an example of a man whose heart is continually being tuned to the heart of God through both the tragic and triumphant seasons of life. As we dive into the Psalms of David while also following the narrative of his life, we gain insight into both the internal and external world of the believer. As believers, God is forming us into the image of Christ for His glory and our sanctification.

Creative Direction

1920’s Clue Whodunit

Every heart tells a story. This summer, you are invited to be a guest at Hart’s Manor, the residence of the mayor, Davey Hart. On this specific night, we welcome you to join the party at the Manor, but look closely, because this story might not be what you expect. A death has occurred, secrets will come to light, and every guest is now a suspect. What begins as a murder mystery quickly becomes something deeper; a story about identity, brokenness, grace, and redemption. Spoiler alert, this isn’t really about solving a crime. It’s about discovering the condition of the heart. So please, join us this summer, because at Hart’s Manor every heart will be up for questioning. Will you solve the mystery or be left wondering, WHODUNIT?

Super Spirit Day

Nick Ely

Speaker

Nick Ely is the Lead Ministry Pastor at Christ Church in Phoenix, where he’s served since 2013. He and his wife, Rachel, have four wild boys—Titus, Jude, Josiah, and Ezekiel—who love Hume Lake with their whole hearts. Nick is passionate about presenting God’s Word to young people with accuracy, clarity, and power. He’s also an avid runner—if you lose track of him, he’s probably doing laps on the trail around the lake.

Stevy York

Speaker

Stevy, his wife (Trisha), and their son (Callum) live on the coast in Encinitas, CA. Stevy is the Associate Pastor at Light Church. Before moving back to his home town of San Diego, Stevy spent 7 years as a Youth Pastor in Orange County after he graduated from Biola University. Though Stevy is passionate about preaching, what really motivates him as a pastor is seeing God bring life, light, direction, and purpose to people’s everyday ordinary lives through the Gospel.

Jeff Sanford

Speaker

Formerly the Wagon Master at Hume Lake’s Wagon Train camp, Jeff Sanford is now a high school teacher at Hume Lake Charter School. He started his youth ministry experience working at Skate Church in Portland, OR where his passion for teaching students ignited. He has a passion for the Lord and for clearly communicating the Gospel in a fun, clear, and creative way. He loves being with his awesome family, bird watching, hockey, skateboarding, playing music, and doing art.

Tony Landini

Speaker

Tony serves as a Pastor of both High School Ministry and Leadership Development at Arbor Road Church in Long Beach, CA. He has a B.A. in Biblical Studies and an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling. He is convinced that God desires to use students to impact His Kingdom, so Tony is dedicated to helping students realize it themselves. Odds are that you can catch him at a coffee shop, snowboarding the local slopes, training for a race, or spending time at home with his wife Natalie and his tiny dog, Poptart.

Jake Ellis

Speaker

Jake Ellis is the teaching pastor at Atascadero Bible Church on the central coast of California. He is passionate about equipping people in all stages of faith to become more like Jesus. As a worship leader for over a decade, he believes that all good preaching must ultimately lead to worship, and he longs to teach God’s Word in a way that moves people toward greater devotion. Jake and his wife, Nikki, have two daughters whom he adores and two goldendoodles that he feels neutral about.

Kellen Drewry

Speaker

Kellen is an energetic middle school shepherd at Fullerton Free Church. He is passionate about students (and others) knowing the life-changing truth of Christ’s love. Kellen enjoys walks with his wife Hannah and dog Ozzie, going to Disneyland (on any day that ends in Y), and training for half marathons. He is currently learning how to surf!

Brian Holland

Speaker

Brian is a disciple of Jesus first who has, by the grace of God, been in some type of pastoral role for over 30 years in Southern California. He is currently the Lead Pastor for Ignite City Church. He has a strong desire to see people come to know and follow Jesus passionately and to live in true biblical community. He gets to be married to his best friend, Kelley, and has two amazing sons, Tyler and Dylan. Brian’s purpose in ministry is to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus.
