Overview
With all the busyness of life it’s sometimes hard to take time out for the things that matter the most. Our marriage retreats are intended to minimize distractions and maximize quality time with your spouse and your Creator. You can expect clear Biblical teaching aimed at couples as well as genuine heartfelt worship.
We offer our famous Activities as well as the space and room to reconnect with your spouse and with God through His creation.
IMPORTANT
Some older mapping services will suggest you take the 245. It is a curvy, winding road that will take you at least an additional hour. DO NOT take 245!
Check in starts at 3:00 PM the first day of the retreat.
You need to be checked out of your lodging by 11:00 AM the last day of the retreat.
We provide:
Dinner the first day of the retreat
All meals each full day of the retreat
Breakfast and lunch the last day of the retreat
There is no cell service at camp. If needed, WiFi is available in select areas for a fee via the ‘Hume Guest’ WiFi network.
If you are attending the retreat, we give you the opportunity to sign up for the following year at the retreat. We then open up registration for everyone else soon after the retreat is over (usually a week from the end of the retreat).
At this time, we do not have an electric charging station at Hume or outlets available for charging vehicles. We encourage you to fully charge your electric vehicle before heading up the mountain.
We want our retreats to be accessible to everyone! To help make this possible, Hume can accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian diets. Because of the high cost of providing for special dietary needs, there is an extra surcharge for these special diets. Please refer to our Special Diet Policy for more information.
Hume Packing List Ideas:
Clothing
- Jacket (layers are helpful as the weather can sometimes be unpredictable in May)
- Long-sleeve shirts
- Pants/jeans
- Shoes (think outside camp in the mountains)
- Socks (bring extra)
- Sweatshirts
- T-shirts
- Shorts (depending on weather)
- Underclothes
- Optional: Hiking shoes/boots
- Optional: Sandals (if you want them for the showers)
Toiletries
- Personal hygiene items
- Soap/shampoo
Misc
- Bible
- Notebook/pen
- Bug spray
- Camera (or smartphone)
- Flashlight (check batteries)
- Spending money (Hume accepts Apple Pay, Cash, Check, Mastercard, and Visa)
- Sunscreen
- Water bottle
- Weather dependent (gloves, rain/snow boots, snow chains, umbrella)
- If it’s warm enough, you may want a towel and clothes to go out on the lake
Note: There is no cell reception at Hume, but a smartphone may still be useful as an alarm clock, flashlight, and camera. Rooms have outlets, so don’t forget your charging cables. WiFi is available for purchase upon your arrival.
Here at Hume, we absolutely love activities of all kinds. Scaling cliffs, jumping from trees, shooting stuff, exploring mountains, and of course, sport competition—the list is long and FUN.
