Summer Seasonal Lodging

Summer lodging for the teaching series will open up on Wednesday, March 4th at 8am.

We do not offer lodging open to the public; however, if you are at Hume attending our free Teaching Series, we do offer the following Summer Lodging:

Black Oak & Hickory Lodge

Located in main camp, just a short walk from the lake, nestled between Ponderosa and Meadow Ranch.

Up to 4 guests allowed

Joshua Lodge

Just a 5-minute drive from the lake, at the top of the hill with a fantastic view!

Up to 4 guests allowed

Other Lodging Options

Private cabins may be available for rent from cabin owners.

IMPORTANT
Some older mapping services will suggest you take the 245. It is a curvy, winding road that will take you at least an additional hour. DO NOT take 245!

There is a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of the first night’s stay due upon making a reservation. The deposit will be forfeited if a reservation is canceled.

We do not offer free guest WiFi at this point in time. We do offer Internet for a fee; however, the speeds here are not fast. Purchase at your own risk.

Lodge rentals during Labor Day weekend may not include additional amenities such as the mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, or phone.

At this time, we do not have an electric charging station at Hume or outlets available for charging vehicles. We encourage you to fully charge your electric vehicle before heading up the mountain.

Ed Uszynski

Speaker

Ed is a Content Developer and Oneness Consultant for both Family Life and Athletes in Action, the marriage and sport ministries of Cru. He served many years as a teaching elder at their home church and frequently speaks to college students, men’s groups, and churches around the country. His writing includes contributions to DesiringGod and other online publications, besides a chapter in the four-volume, C.S. Lewis: Life, Works, and Legacy. He has an M.Div. and Ph.D. in American Culture Studies.

Dr. Erik Thoennes

Speaker

Erik Thoennes is a Professor of Theology at Biola University and a pastor at Grace EVFree, La Mirada. He was voted Professor of the Year twice and was awarded the Faculty Excellence Award by his colleagues at Biola University. He is the author of “Life’s Biggest Questions: What the Bible Says About the Things that Matter Most,” and “Biblical and Theological Studies: A Student’s Guide,” Erik and his wife Donna have four children and love the people and ministry of Hume Lake!

Grady Root

Speaker

Grady Root is the Senior Pastor at Maricopa Springs Family Church in Maricopa, AZ, which he planted in 2010. He has served in ministry for over 20 years, beginning his career as a student ministry pastor at Willow Creek Community Church. He attended Wheaton College and received his M.Div from Phoenix Seminary with a focus in Biblical & Theological Studies. Grady and his wife Leanne have four children and together enjoy camping, books, board games & serving Jesus in ministry.

Jake Ellis

Speaker

Jake Ellis is the teaching pastor at Atascadero Bible Church on the central coast of California. He is passionate about equipping people in all stages of faith to become more like Jesus. As a worship leader for over a decade, he believes that all good preaching must ultimately lead to worship, and he longs to teach God’s Word in a way that moves people toward greater devotion. Jake and his wife, Nikki, have two daughters whom he adores and two goldendoodles that he feels neutral about.

Jerry Root

Dr. Jerry Root is professor emeritus at Wheaton College, as well as a visiting professor at Biola University, Talbot Graduate School of Theology, and Moody Bible Institute teaching C. S. Lewis courses at all three schools. For over forty-one years, Dr. Root has lectured on C.S. Lewis topics at 78 universities in 18 countries. He is the author of numerous C.S. Lewis focused books, articles and publications. He is married to Claudia Root and together they have four married children and 15 grandchildren.

Mike Dsane

Speaker

Mike is the husband of Sky, the father of Apollo and Julius, and an overly excited Lakers fan. He currently serves as the lead pastor of King’s Harbor Church. His greatest joy as a minister is seeing the Lord use the Word to spur people towards faith that will be reproduced in others.

Todd Arnett

Speaker

Todd is the Lead Pastor of High Desert Church in Victorville, CA, a church committed to preparing every generation to change their worlds for Christ.  He couldn’t be more grateful for his wife, Joanna, and their kids, Jackson (wife Sky and sons Hezekiah & Titus), Aleah (husband Joe), Kendie (fiancé Ty) and Ellie. He enjoys doing most anything with his family, playing and watching team sports and rooting for the UCLA Bruins.

Dr. Sean McDowell

Speaker

Sean McDowell is a professor of Apologetics at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. He has earned two Master’s degrees in philosophy and theology and his Ph.D. in Apologetics and Worldview Studies. He is the author, editor, or co-author of more than 20 books and is the co-host of the Think Biblically podcast–one of the most popular podcasts on the intersection of faith and culture. And he is on the teaching team at his home church in Southern California.

Andrew Rogers

Speaker

Dr. Andrew Rogers and his wife, Jenny, live in Lodi, CA, and have four children, three in-laws, and three grandchildren. With over 30 years in pastoral ministry, education, and missions, he serves as Executive Director of Biblical Counseling Ministries Worldwide. He holds degrees from The Master’s University and Seminary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a Fellow and Board Member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).
