I was given the opportunity to serve alongside my family at Hume for eleven summers, starting when I was just twelve years old. I worked all the way through summer 2024, after which my wife and I were married at Inspiration Point. Those years were filled with growth, laughter, and unforgettable moments, working shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the kindest and hardest-working people I’ve ever met. From my first boss in the General Store to the grill masters in the Snack Shop, to the silent backbone of Hume in Operations, I saw Christ embodied in countless ways.
The lessons God taught me during those summers at Hume formed the foundation for who I am today. I learned what it means to serve faithfully, lead with humility, and work hard for something bigger than myself.
Now, in my career as an engineer designing hardware for Starlink, I’m reminded daily that the gospel isn’t confined to Sundays or chapel messages — it’s alive, practical, and deeply relevant. The same God who is proclaimed from Ponderosa Chapel has masterfully designed a world that can be studied, understood, and predicted based on His inherent designs. That is a God whom we all can trust when he says he “knows the plans he has for us.”
Hume didn’t just prepare me for a career — it shaped my perspective on calling, excellence, and what it means to live out my faith in every season. For that, I’m endlessly grateful.
