for all camp and retreat centers
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information
Update: March 28, 2020
CEO Dathan Brown shares some thoughts (with one of Hume’s iconic views).
Hume is temporarily closed in all of our locations, and now is not a good time to try to visit. However, we are hoping to open up our doors later this spring, and we are planning even now for wonderful summer of ministry. Sets are being built, summer staff hired, the works. We can’t wait to hear the beautiful sounds of students worshiping our Creator, and look forward to hearing their stories of life-transformation. We fully trust the Lord no matter what happens, and our prayer is that this would be an amazing, fun-filled summer honoring Jesus! Please keep praying for all who are affected by the current crisis and for summer 2020.

Update: March 14, 2020
To date at Hume in all our locations, there have been no known cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19). However, in an abundance of caution and a desire to follow national, state, and local recommendations, we have decided to cancel all outside groups that are not currently underway through April 5, 2020.
It’s a beautiful day at Hume Lake. Preparations are being made, even today, for ministry later this spring and we are looking forward to an amazing summer of ministry to come. We are excited to see how God may use this summer’s theme to transform lives.
It is comforting to know that we can trust God because He is trustworthy.
Hume Lake Christian Camps is committed to the health and safety of all our guests and staff. Please know that our team is taking this seriously and we are monitoring this situation closely.
Update: March 6, 2020
Hume Lake Christian Camps is committed to the health and safety of all our guests and staff.
In recent days, there has been a lot of news coverage regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). Our health staff and leadership are aware of the issues and concerns. We continue to have procedures in place that will mitigate any potential impact on our guests (pre-camp screening of campers for sickness, monitoring guests while on-site, hand-washing stations, additional cleaning procedures, health staff, isolation if needed, etc.).
To date, we have had no detected outbreaks of Coronavirus with our guests, with our partner churches, or our local Hume community at any of our properties. Thus far, we have only seen normal seasonal flu issues at our camps.
In the event of an outbreak affecting any of the Hume locations, we will follow directions as needed from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)—as well as state and local agencies—up to and including quarantines of guests, staff or staff families, and will comply with camp closure if mandated. We will continue to track the status of communicable diseases, use best practices to reduce the impact of these diseases, and communicate any potential impacts to our guests and staff.
Please know that our team is taking this seriously and we are monitoring this situation closely.
