The Men’s Retreat is designed to ignite passionate living through outdoor activities, great food, engaging worship and messages of conviction. Speakers & Worship
Dr. Erik Thoennes
Erik Thoennes is Professor and Chair of the Theology Department at Biola University and is a pastor at Grace EVFree, La Mirada. He was voted Professor of the Year twice, and was awarded the Faculty Excellence Award by his colleagues at Biola University. John Michael Hinton
Entertainer / Magician
John Michael’s unique style of close-up magic for the stage uses everyday objects to accomplish impossible feats. Using a live video feed, every audience member is transported onto the stage just inches away from the mystery. Driven by a passion to encourage people to embrace joy and find purpose, he uses the power of illusion, storytelling and humor in a mix that you won’t soon forget.
When not traveling coast to coast, his free time is spent sharing large cups of black tea with his beautiful wife and wrestling on the floor with his two young children. Outside of his family, his favorite things in life are In’N’Out burgers, ice cold root beer, a good suspenseful movie and family trips to Disneyworld.
Dominic is a worship pastor, teacher, and songwriter from San Diego, Ca. He has served in the local church as both worship leader and teaching pastor for 18 years. He has also dedicated more than a decade to leading worship for camp ministries, conferences, and a myriad of churches. He is passionate about presenting a high view of God and communicating the Gospel in song, word, and deed. He and his bride, Tara, currently reside in San Diego, CA with their 2 children.
