Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa established a Christian camp at Green Valley Lake as a result of Pastor Chuck Smith’s vision to operate a youth camp where recreation, God’s creation, the Word of God, and worship all combine in leaving a lifelong impact on the soul of each camper. CCCM is now partnering with Hume Lake Cristian Camps to build upon these investments made over the past 25 years in order to continue to expand the ministry of this camp. Hume Lake is excited to now operate this camp and build upon its rich legacy by bringing many life-changing elements of the Hume experience, developed over almost 75 years at its youth camps in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Through this partnership, these beautiful facilities and location in the heart of the San Bernardino Mountains will continue to reach the youth of Southern California and expand its impact to the glory of God.

Hume has offered employment to all of the Green Valley Lake staff, so you will see the same friendly faces. All current contracts will be honored by Hume.

It was decided that since Hume would be overseeing the operation of the website, transitioning it to match their current hume.org design was wise.

Since the camp will be overseen by Hume Lake, it made sense to bring it under their “umbrella.” A new name was chosen to help avoid confusion. Pastor Chuck had a vision for this facility to be used to reach the youth of Southern California for Christ. In keeping with that vision, Southern California—SoCal—is represented in the new name.

We desire that each person coming into contact with this global ministry will:

• Accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior
• Grow in their faith and Christian character development
• Establish the priorities of prayer, Bible study, and Christian fellowship while associating with a local church
• Devote their lives in service to our Lord Jesus at home and abroad

We will continue to emphasize ministries to youth.
