Hume Lake employs over 100 full-time employees. Throughout the year, many seasonal and part-time employees assist in meeting the needs of over 50,000 guests every year. During the summer, the staff grows by over 400 select Christians who have the desire to serve Jesus Christ in the unique ministry of Christian camping. Each are chosen from a variety of geographical areas, regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, handicap, or veteran status. Hume Lake Christian Camps Inc. is an evangelical, not-for-profit, interdenominational camping ministry.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others.

The Marketing Director is responsible to create, implement and manage a comprehensive marketing plan that will enhance the organization’s image and position within the non-profit sector and general public. These activities include establishing brand identity and recognition, ensuring advertising and marketing across all communication media, and building capacity to provide video, audio and textual material to support marketing efforts. This is a key leadership position within the Organization with responsibility to support all strategic goals, business objectives and delivery of services while coordinating with other departments and contracted services to improve Hume Lake Christian Camps overall effectiveness.

This position requires a minimum of 5 years in marketing with demonstrated success, preferably in the non-profit sector. It is preferred that the Marketing Director live in housing provided at the Hume Lake, CA, location. However, it may be possible to live in the Fresno, CA, area, work out of our Fresno office location and make frequent trips to oversee operations at the Hume Lake location. Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve and minister to others. The applicant must have at least 2 years experience in hands-on plumbing and related handiwork. Responsibilities include installation, repair, upgrades and remodels for both guests and staff housing. Must be adept in commercial plumbing and preventative maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration units.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others. The Creative Graphic Designer is responsible to create, develop and produce exceptional themed graphics for the camp themes and all live productions for all of Hume Ministries nationally and internationally that effectively contextualizes the message of Scripture and draws students of all ages to Christ. This position creates, directs and produces all theme related graphics that impact thousands of students every year for both summer and winter and works closely with the Creative Director of Programming, Camp Directors, Program staff, Marketing/Communications, and production staff.

Responsibilities include but not limited to, designing theme logos, promotional materials, web graphics, design props, design and produce graphics for set builds, assist in painting and building of sets and props, assist in fabrication and production of costuming.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others. The Controller is a full-time position responsible for accounting and financial operations while working in a team environment to see that the mission of the Organization is furthered through effective and efficient use of financial resources. An understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Not-for-Profit industry standards will be a key component of the individual’s success. Professional certifications are desired (including CPA license). The position will be based out of Hume Lake Christian Camps Fresno, California office. However, responsibilities will include working at the camp facilities within the Sequoia National Forest, as needed. An applicant should be able to work independently and meet the various demands of the Organization, primarily as it relates to accounting and financial reporting. An ability to apply judgment will need to be demonstrated as well as a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications: •Three to five years experience in public or private accounting functions; Not-for-profit experience desired; •Bachelors degree or higher in business related course of study, emphasis in accounting at minimum.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others. We’re looking for a Food Service Cook to provide a wide-range of meal services in five of our kitchen locations. This position is located at our Hume Lake, CA location.

This position requires basic knowledge of cooking methods to include braising, frying, grilling and roasting. Applicant must be familiar with food service measurements & weights and be able to make conversions. Must possess the ability to project a friendly attitude; work with a variety of ages and personalities and with a diverse group of internal staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. This position reports directly to the Executive and Sous Chef and carries out assigned duties in their absence. Attention to detail is crucial to this position. Position Description: Maintenance Manager Reports to: Camp Director FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Location: Monterey, Massachusetts

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for all maintenance operations, tools/equipment, facilities/shops, budgets and employees. Manages all small projects, repair maintenance, deferred maintenance, and planned maintenance activities for the camp. Possesses significant multi-craft skills, knowledge and experience to handle jobs personally or with a team, as well as adequately assess and obtain contract resources when needed. Has aptitude and experience to grow and improve existing systems, including computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), inventory control, and other processes and equipment. Ensures 24/7/365 coverage by maintenance staff to ensure adequate camp operations. Proactive in helping to meet the spiritual needs of guests and staff.

LEADERSHIP • Develops and maintains a strategic perspective based on organizational needs and direction. Ability to cast vision and grow maintenance department in alignment with camp growth. Has worked in supervisory/management roles and performed well. • Creative in all aspects of maintenance and small projects and brings opportunities forward for consideration. • Builds healthy relationships with all people who work in or interact with maintenance and the camp, including guests, vendors, the local community, and employees. • Consistently maintains a welcoming and friendly attitude; promotes interest and care for all maintenance personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensures all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner. Promotes job safety and consistently identifies and mitigates job-site risks. • Responsible for managing small projects and all scheduled and unplanned work requests. Works with Camp Director and other staff to align priorities and resources with health and safety, camp budgets, and programs. • Responsible for all tools, equipment, vehicles and maintenance buildings operations. Ensures all tools, equipment and facilities are organized and in good working order.
• Responsible for maintenance budget. Takes a leadership role in analysis, recommendations and implementation to ensure an efficient and optimum cost operation. Routinely seeks out cost saving opportunities. • Develop and implement ongoing improvements needed with camp growth, including work order management, CMMS implementation, inventory control, acquiring equipment and vehicles, and efficient storage/warehousing. Works with Camp Director to identify and source additional personnel when required. • Takes lead role for camp in working with local building inspector and other regulatory agency personnel to obtain building permits. • Trains and manages regular staff and seasonal staff during the year. Recruits and organizes projects and resources for volunteer groups. • Proactively and routinely seeks feedback for improvement of the maintenance department’s performance. • Performs other related duties and assignments as required. Hume maintains the right to reassign or change duties as needed.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS • Significant multi-craft experience and skills, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and woodworking. Requires sufficient working knowledge and use of required tools and equipment. • Experience with general construction and familiarity with building codes. • Has demonstrated strong planning and organization skills.
• Possesses attention to detail. • Possesses or willing to obtain certifications and experience for operating heavy equipment. • Minimum high school graduate. Additional vocational and other skills training preferred. • Proactive in approach and desire to maintain excellent performance in all areas of role. • Ability to train others in completing maintenance tasks and the operation of tools and equipment.
