Hume Lake employs over 100 full-time employees. Throughout the year, many seasonal and part-time employees assist in meeting the needs of over 50,000 guests every year. During the summer, the staff grows by over 400 select Christians who have the desire to serve Jesus Christ in the unique ministry of Christian camping. Each are chosen from a variety of geographical areas, regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, handicap, or veteran status. Hume Lake Christian Camps Inc. is an evangelical, not-for-profit, interdenominational camping ministry.

Full Time

Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others. 

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for guiding and managing the overall provisions of Human Resources services, policies and programs for the organization; originates and leads Human Resource practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Provides executive level leadership and advises organizational Directors, Managers and Supervisors on Human Resources issues.  Ensures compliance with all existing government, State and local labor requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.   Educational requirements include, the minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent field. Undergraduate degree in biblical/theological studies, is a plus.  Advanced degree or professional certification in the Society for Human Resources Management—Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.   This position requires strong inter-personal skills with the ability to project a friendly attitude; work with a variety of ages and personalities and with a diverse group of internal staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making, and attention to detail are crucial to this position. Applicant must also be prepared to meet the spiritual needs of staff and guests and perform other related duties and assignments as required. Position offers health benefits and housing on campus.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others.

The Marketing Director is responsible to create, implement and manage a comprehensive marketing plan that will enhance the organization’s image and position within the non-profit sector and general public. These activities include establishing brand identity and recognition, ensuring advertising and marketing across all communication media, and building capacity to provide video, audio and textual material to support marketing efforts. This is a key leadership position within the Organization with responsibility to support all strategic goals, business objectives and delivery of services while coordinating with other departments and contracted services to improve Hume Lake Christian Camps overall effectiveness.

This position requires a minimum of 5 years in marketing with demonstrated success, preferably in the non-profit sector. It is preferred that the Marketing Director live in housing provided at the Hume Lake, CA, location. However, it may be possible to live in the Fresno, CA, area, work out of our Fresno office location and make frequent trips to oversee operations at the Hume Lake location. Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve and minister to others. The applicant must have at least 2 years experience in hands-on plumbing and related handiwork. Responsibilities include installation, repair, upgrades and remodels for both guests and staff housing. Must be adept in commercial plumbing and preventative maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration units.

Hume Ministries’ Hume New England camp, located in Massachusetts, is looking for an individual with strong leadership and managerial skills with experience in food service management.

Responsibilities include oversight of all Dining Hall operations, equipment, budgets and employees; preparing all menu items to Hume standards for guests and employees in an efficient and timely manner; maintaining a clean kitchen compliant with applicable health regulations.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is a non-denominational, non-profit Christian Camp with its Hume New England campus located in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. Housing is not available at this location and will need to be secured by the employee off campus.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others. The Creative Graphic Designer is responsible to create, develop and produce exceptional themed graphics for the camp themes and all live productions for all of Hume Ministries nationally and internationally that effectively contextualizes the message of Scripture and draws students of all ages to Christ. This position creates, directs and produces all theme related graphics that impact thousands of students every year for both summer and winter and works closely with the Creative Director of Programming, Camp Directors, Program staff, Marketing/Communications, and production staff.

Responsibilities include but not limited to, designing theme logos, promotional materials, web graphics, design props, design and produce graphics for set builds, assist in painting and building of sets and props, assist in fabrication and production of costuming.
